Working together produced two giant Matariki stars. To make each star we needed seven pieces of artwork and each piece of artwork was created by one or two children. They took us three days to complete.

We've been using an 'oldie but a goodie' at Discovery - a listening post.
The children have been learning about cassette tapes, how you have to rewind them and you can see the tape going from one side to the other and then it goes back to the other side when it is playing and half way through the story it tells you to turn it over!
They have been totally amazed and intrigued (look at some of their faces). The novelty has not worn off, they keep asking for it to be put out again.

Students (from Rooms 11, 12 & 13) that come to the Discovery Programme each morning have been learning lots of skills through dramatic play. We have had the Trentham Discovery Hospital open and students have been learning to communicate and cooperate with each other.
There has been a lot of talk (and listening) about symptoms that the patient has and what the doctor or nurse thinks the problem might be then working out a treatment.
